Do you make custom spiral stairs?
All of our stairs are custom built to fit each stair location. Our stairs are not flat packed they are manufactured in our workshop to the customers exact needs.
Do your spiral stairs meet building regulations?
We manufacture spiral stairs to BS5395 PART 2 1984. We also manufacture attic stairs for situations where building regulations cannot be met.
How much space do I need for my spiral stairs?
In general, add 100 - 150mm to the diameter of the stair you need. For example, a 1370mm stair fits comfortably in a 1500mm square or circular stair opening. In some cases it may be possible to work with less room. When we conduct our free site survey we will be able to determine this.
What headroom do I require for my spiral stairs?
There must be adequate headroom (2 metres) available above the location of the stairs. Where the 2 metre clearance cannot be met there may be alternatives which can be advised upon during the site survey.
How do I measure my floor-to-floor height?
The floor-to-floor height is the height of your stair. It reaches from the finished surface of the bottom floor to the finished surface of the top floor. It is NOT a floor-to-ceiling height.
How long before the spiral stair will be installed?
Our usual turnaround time from taking your order to installation date is 3 to 4 weeks. In exceptional circumstances it is possible to accommodate customers that require a quicker turnaround time.
Are railings around the stairwell required?
Often to complete the stairs there will be a need for additional horizontal hand railing around the stairwell. Some customers prefer to stud around the opening. We can provide and install horizontal railings in the same style as the stair where needed.
